Colin John Bond (born 24 February 1942) is a retired Australian racing driver.
 
Colin initially made a reputation as a hill climber with three NSW Hill climb titles in 1965-67 driving a Lynx-Peugeot S/C.

Colin reached the highest levels in Australian motorsport in 1969 when he was recruited by Harry Firth to the newly formed Holden Dealer Team. He quickly found success, winning the 1969 Hardie-Ferodo 500 mile race (now the Bathurst 1000) in a Holden Monaro.

Colin was a particularly versatile driver, also finding
success in the Australian Rally Championship, winning
the title in 1971, 1972 and 1974 driving both LC and LJ Torana GTR XU-1s. He also won the 1975 Australian Touring Car Championship in a Torana SLR 5000 L34. 

Colin also won the South Pacific Series in 1971 in a GTR XU-1 and again in 1975 driving  an SLR5000 L34.

In a Poll conducted by Racing Car News Magazine in 1971 Colin bond was voted Australia's Top Driver by readers with Alan Moffat second and Peter Brock 6th!

There's a strong chance that Colin should have had two Bathurst wins to his name. In the book The Rise and Fall of Peter Brock, Australian motoring writer Bill Tuckey claimed that there had been a lap scoring error in the 1976 1000km race and that Colin's Torana was the first car to complete the distance. Colin and John Harvey were

classified second behind the Bob Morris/John Fitzpatrick, which famously smoked its way to the line with mechanical problems.

For Bathurst 1977, Colin teamed up with Alan Moffat in the Ford works teams Falcons. Due to team orders Colin was asked to slow and let Alan Moffat take the win in a Falcon 1-2 finish. Should this have meant Colin Bond should have won 3 Bathurst titles??

From 1977 to 1980 Colin ran the Ford works rally team, with Greg Carr and Bond driving the very competitive BDA Escort. In the 1980's, Colin drove a great variety of machinery during this period including the Ford Capri, Chevrolet Camaro, Triumph TR8, Alfa Romeo GTV, Alfa Romeo 75, Ford Sierra RS500, Toyota Corolla, and Porsche (including a Porsche 944 Turbo for Allan Hamilton's team in the Australian GT Championship).

In 1994, Colin was lured back for one last tilt at the Bathurst 1000 by Fred Gibson, manager of the Winfield Racing Team. Driving a Holden VP Commodore with Swede Anders Olofsson, Colin briefly led the race early on when many cars were pitting to change tyres. He finished in 6th place and on the same lap as the winning car.

Colin retired as a driver in 1994, but continued to contribute to the sport as a driving standards observer for V8 Supercar until he was replaced by Tomas Mezera after the 2006 season.

Colin was inducted into the V8 Supercar Hall of Fame in 2002.

Colin is one of Australia’s most versatile and talented drivers.

No Other Driver has won the Australian Rally Championship, Bathurst and the Australian Touring Car Championship. A truly remarkable effort by a remarkable driver.
